Imagine my surprise this afternoon when I read through the program for Julie's piano recital and learned that she'll be doing a duet with me! Her teacher has always encouraged us to practice duets together, but it never occurred to me that this was the reason.
EEK! I've never done a recital! I've never even played in front of anyone besides family—and not even family in more than 35 years!
Well, one way or another, on May 17, we'll be performing "The Trout" by Franz Schubert. I wonder who will be telling whom to relax. Actually, I think I know.
I think that is totally delicious! What a wonderful way for you and Julie to share music.

I did the same with my daughter when she was about Julie's age. I have a lot of anxiety about performing in public too, but it was a very sweet experience. I was so concerned about not making her nervous that it helped me relax too.

Knock 'em dead! A very sweet moment between a mother and daughter. Hope your husband will be bringing the video camera!
