1. Here are some fun photos of the Prez at last night's All-Star game.
2. Behold, the Michael Jackson Pantone Color Guide.
3. If you are a fan of both Neko Case and "Wait, Wait ... Don't Tell Me," then I hope you didn't miss last week's episode. Neko had to play "Not My Job" and answer questions about Necco wafers. She is really funny and was slinging Civil War jokes left and right. And I liked the way she described her genre of music: "Modern-Independent-Loud." (I also enjoyed Robert Earl Keen's appearance for the same segment back in May.)
4. If you're reading Infinite Jest, you'll appreciate this Flickr set of photos taken in and around Boston, each accompanied by a corresponding quote from the book.
5. I've become a wee bit hooked on this video in which a very talented musician plays all the instruments for the '70s hit "Long Time" from Boston. And the vocalist he got to do Brad Delp's part is outstanding. (The intro, "Foreplay," goes on for about 2 minutes, but you'll recognize that too.)
Gollee, yes! I howled. "Mah life was saved by the Necco Wafer in mah breast pocket." In a heavy faux Virginia accent. And the references to "Yankee candy." It was hilarious. Necco wafers and Ken Burns.
I like Necco Wafers.

Neco Wafers are for people who don't like real candy. Neko Case is another matter. Always meant to give her a much closer listen.
The guys covering the Boston tune was terrific. Being a former musician and even occasional sound engineer, I'm amazed at their attempt to mimic the original. It was nearly very perfect.
