If you had told me just a few years ago that I could elect a black man (with a strange first name) as my mayor, my governor, and my president, I would have rolled my eyes and snorted. But as of today's local election, it's true.

That's the best part of all! My children are old enough that they KNOW it's a big deal. But to younger ones, it will become their reality. Yay!
