Once again I've been given the opportunity (thanks, Mom Central!) to review some environmentally friendly products from Green Works. This time I received two items from their newly launched laundry line: a jug of laundry detergent and a spray bottle of stain remover. As with all the Green Works products, these two are:
1. made from only renewable resources (that is, resources that are "replenished by natural processes at a rate that's equal to the rate of consumption by humans").
2. made from biodegradable ingredients (those that have "the ability to safely and relatively quickly break down biologically into the raw materials of nature and disappear into the environment").
3. made from natural, plant-based ingredients.
4. 99% petrochemical-free.
5. phosphate-free and bleach-free.
6. not tested on animals.
But how do they work, you ask? I found that the laundry detergent works just as well as my usual choice, Tide Free. I have to say that I never use scented products, but the detergent I was sent from Green Works is "original scent." It is not an unpleasant scent, but it is a scent, and I noticed it. I would absolutely choose the "free & clear" version if I were to buy it in the store.
As for the stain remover, I didn't have much in the way of stubborn stains to try it out on this week, but it seemed to work just as well as my usual Shout.
I think that these products are a great addition to the Green Works line. Surely it won't be long before you can't even find toxic chemicals on the shelves of the supermarket anymore, don't you think?
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Clorox Green Works and received a bottle of Green Works Natural Detergent and Stain Remover to facilitate my review and a $20 thank-you gift certificate.
Well, I am glad you liked the products, but, well, um, no, I don't think. Too many eejits using disposable bleach wipes, methinks. And hand sanitizer. Feh.

These don't contain any bleach.
The alcohol-based hand sanitizers are supposed to be OK, as opposed to the "antibacterial" products out there.

To me, one of the best parts of doing laundry is the scent of my April Fresh Downy! I'll never give it up. Never!! =D
