Margaret

I hoist my glass to boring lives!! I love mine that way also.

Elena

That's a great way to look at it! Congrats to you on a good year. I have to laugh, though. You sound like my 89-year-old FIL who sends us email updates every morning so we know he and my MIL are OK. They usually contain the phrase "fortunately, nothing is new." LOL!

It is so good to look at things this way. I think part of it IS getting older, and knowing that crap CAN happen at any given instant. And also finding a little bit of a silver lining in some bad things. Yeah, I lost my job this year, but these last 5 months of unemployment have been a blessing for me. I have not appreciated life this much in so long. Being able to pay attention to the sunrises and sunsets, to relish the lack of killer stress, to feel true joy in creativity on my own time. It can't last, obviously, but I know I will look back at this as total bliss. Isn't it interesting that day-to-day it seems like not all that much happens, but when you compile it into a year you realize you have good reason why you're so EXHAUSTED!

Katy

Amen.
