Some school vacation weeks seem so long I think I'm going to do myself in before it's half over. This time it felt long, but in the good way. We had talked about going away, but that didn't happen for a number of reasons, and so we had a "staycation" that felt just right.
During which my kids:
1. Saw movies: "Diary of a Wimpy Kid," "Oceans," "Clash of the Titans," "The Lightning Thief"
2. Ate at restaurants: Chili's, The Local, Mandarin Gourmet, Peking Cuisine, Bill's Pizza, Friendly's
3. Shopped: probably everywhere at The Natick Mall Collection (by Steph and her friend), Target, Old Navy (summer clothes shopping is done!)
4. Celebrated birthdays (Pete's and mine)
5. Had playdates and sleepovers here and at their friends' houses
6. Had baseball and soccer games and practices
7. Visited the library, shot hoops on our driveway, read books, played games, and generally busied themselves
Andy and I got to partake in some of the fun too, in between working, and even got dinner out alone last night at L'Andana, which was delicious.
All that being said, it will be hard for me to disguise the spring in my step after I drop my lovelies off at school tomorrow! As Andy is fond of saying, "How can I miss them if they don't go away?"
