The house is very quiet tonight.
Steph is at camp. We brought her up there today, and I was very grateful that the predicted "strong thunderstorms" held off. It was beastly hot and humid, but that is still preferable to pelting rain. (Which we've done before, and which sucks. There's nothing like driving away knowing that all the clothes, sheets, and towels you so lovingly packed are already mildewing.) It was a pleasure to tell the nurse that she will just have her regular meds, unlike last year when she was also on amoxicillin for strep and had to keep leaving for rabies shots. In fact, we are also experimenting (under doctor's orders, of course) with taking her off iron supplements for the summer. We will get her blood tested when she comes home and see if it's any different than when she left. Anyhow, she is in the cabin with all the girls she wanted to be with, and she seemed happy when we left. Julie wanted us to leave her there too, I think. Pete ... not so much. Yet, anyhow.
Julie is at a friend's house on her very first sleepover! I told her to feel free to call if she decides she doesn't want to go through with it, but so far, so good. I think she's going to be fine.
Andy is at a poker game. Winning money to pay for camp, I presume.
Which leaves me and Pete, and I just brought Pete up to bed. He had another sleepover party on Tuesday, and he got even less sleep than the one last Friday. He came home yesterday and went straight up to bed. I woke him after 4 hours, and he was like a zombie for the afternoon. Then we went out to Legal's for Steph's farewell dinner with Barbara and Jerry, and Pete was out like a light shortly afterward. Today he was still not quite back to normal and didn't complain when I suggested it was bedtime.
How did Julie's first sleepover go???

Those "strong thunderstorms" produced a tornado near me! I'm glad the Boston area was spared.
