So, the kids got out of school last Monday, and Steph went up to camp on Thursday, but I am just now starting my vacation. Why? I just sent off the manuscript for a book I'd been editing, and that was the last project I had in the pipeline. This would normally be cause for alarm, but I have been working much too hard these last few months, so I am gladly—nay, ecstatically—welcoming this break. I know that more work is just around the corner.
How hard have I been working? Well, in this half-year, I earned three times what I earned in all of last year—how's that for a number-crunch? But it has taken its toll. My house is squalid, I am way overdue to read a book or see a movie, and it's been altogether too long since I tried out a new recipe. I am looking forward to waking up tomorrow with nothing at all on my calendar. Anyone up for a game of Uno?
It's great to hear that you are getting all this work. It's proof that quality editing still is valued!
