It was great to see you at ACES!

Yay! So fun! How was Pittsburgh? I'm planning to visit a friend there soon, my first time there.

Sounds, even to a non-copy editor, like a lot of fun. I am so glad you girded your loins and went.

I love this post, Karen. I'm so happy for you to have found Your People, in person!

Karen, it was so great to meet you and hang out! You summed up so well what I loved about the conference. And guess what? I too discovered ACES through the tweets from the Vegas conference, particularly those tweets announcing/debating "more than" and "over," and I knew I really wanted to be there. I wasn't an ACES member before that either but then joined with plans to go to Pittsburgh.

I agree wholeheartedly about Bill Walsh and Ben Zimmer's presentations and your feelings about the spelling bee and our freelancer happy hour. I didn't go to Mary Norris's session, but know so many people loved her. Wow, what a cool experience getting to chat with her at Olive and Twist! I'm so glad you had the courage to sit down with her. See you on Twitter!

Your post makes me GRIN. What a wonderful adventure!

Laura Poole

It was a hoot to get to know you better, and I look forward to seeing you in Portland!!
