The Husbands sounds intriguing. The holidays have been decent to good but I'm always relieved when they're over and life goes back to normal...if that even exists. Politics and the news are so depressing and frightening these days.

My favorite thing about the holidays being over is going back to Costco! I avoid it like the plague in the weeks leading up to Christmas, but I'm going this Monday. :)
Re the news, I know that people say "Oh, we've been through this before..." but I feel like the current political climate is off-the-charts frightening. :(
Let me know if you read The Husbands—I found it delightful.

I have been meaning to get in touch - feel the same way about politics and some actors! And thanks for the movie and books recommendations. I have some for you. We watched Fall (about two daredevil women) and The Fall and The Novice which led to something we would never have watched - Zack Snyder's Justice League (superheros against bad guys but some of the story is interesting and well shot and acted). Also watched The Night Agent - didn't sleep through this one! Also Dark Winds - appreciated the special feature of how they went about being accurate. True Detective - except for season two - watched 5 minutes and said no - but the other seasons are good. Waitress - the musical.
Books- Here One Moment - The Last Lifeboat - Life or Death - Echoes of Us - and A Certain Kind of Starlight.
I think we are all anxious about the coming year.
